Hello Spring!
Hello, hello!
First day of Spring, weather not looking as sunny as I would like.. but I’m hoping it’ll warm up a bit soon.. so I can start kicking. . i mean strutting around in my new shoes that I bought for an awesome price in China! Well, it was about $40ish each, which you would imagine isn’t an awesome price here… but these shoes are considered like the brands you would find in Myers/David Jones here… but the awesome thing about it was I got them at 50% off! Why can’t we get 50% offs here in our department stores too?? I went there on the last day of the sale, only had about 800rmb on me (au$100), wish I could’ve bought more!

Left: Lime yellow cork wedges wedges, they are about 1-2inches high
Right: Sandals (with a little bit of heel) and a lot of ‘coins’ hanging off it!.. Yep, you can hear when I’m coming! like coins jiggling in a bag :D
Wedges were totally IN in China, hence I got sucked in to buying a pair, I know the boyfriend dislikes it… because then I will be taller than him :P
Also bought a few floral maxi dresses, which were also IN, which my boyfriend also didn’t like me in… but aye its hard to find maxi dresses that I ‘look good’ in.

Loved pairing these with 3/4 maxi skirts when in China, but I couldn’t find many that I liked :( I hope there will be lots in store here this season.. Ah Spring shopping :)
Missing great variety, big discounts, and cheap prices..of course you need to sift through the clothes to find something of decent/awesome quality… oh China…

Weddings ~ Deborah & Azwan
I got the chance to second shoot at this beautiful winter wedding one lovely weekend in May. Deborah & Azwan’s wedding.
They had already been married the week before with a cultural celebration (and lots of partying I heard!), and a week later (you are about to find below!) was their official wedding day, a more ‘western’ wedding. Blush pink, fur, David Austin roses. graffiti and beautiful light were some elements of the day.
Their wedding day started a little differently than usual; Morning preparation then followed by wedding location shoots in beautiful locations.. including a run down tram yard with a lot of graffiti! Then a late ceremony at Little Bay Chapel ; that is overlooking the water!… and the night ended with a formal dinner and more partying at the QVB Tea Room.
The amazing Vendors included; Custom desiged Wedding gown by Steven Khalil, Cake by Faye Cahill, Flowers by Form over Function, Candy Buffet by Candy Buffet Company, Photography by Bailie Photography (whom I second shot for!)

The style of Deborah’s wedding gown is absolutely gorgeous; I particularly loved the train how it flows out at the back. Totally flattering!

Faye Cahill cakes look amazing!!

Wedding season is just about to start! So I will have more weddings + engagements to come on the blog!
Stayyy tuned!

Weddings ~ Wendy & Reynard
Gday readers!
I’ve been MIA for the past month ish as I’ve been travelling overseas (China!) – although I’ve been back for about 3-4 weeks now, I’ve been busy catching up with ‘life’! … Oh I miss traveling … cheap shopping and reaaaal cantonese food – I feel so cheated living in Australia haha.
Anyways, I’m still trying to back blog wedding photos from earlier in the year such as these from Wendy and Reynard’s wedding!
I’ve known Wendy since I was probably a toddler, and I went to primary school with her brothers, so it was a privilege that she asked me to photograph her wedding day!
It was an intimate wedding with close family and friends, and it was the first Chinese traditional wedding that I’ve been to in a while (about 12 yrs??). I love details in cultural weddings :)

I loveeeed Wendy’s choice of fresh red roses to match the traditional chinese dress :)

The fun part of chinese weddings – challenging games for the groom, before being allowed to see the bride :) Games for the day included push ups, and singing “Just the way you are”, topped off with red pockets for the “sisters” at the door!

When Reynard started singing…

The tea ceremony begins, followed by gifts and red pockets

Now for the Western styled wedding!

Wendy’s proud grandma, 2 thumbs up for the newly weds!

It was a long day 7:30am – about 10pm! but was indeed fun, and being part of a friend’s big day :)
Thank you again Wendy & Reynard for asking us!
I’ve got another wedding to blog about, and have a few weddings and pre-wedding shoots coming up in the next 2 months.. wedding season is just around the corner afterall! More ‘love’ coming to the blog soon :)
