just joking. It’s actually my phone iphone 3GS (again), yeh technology these days; one thing is everything.

Yeah, I gave it an extra purpose as a mirror (for emergencies.. hah) which my boyfriend absolutely hates.

Day 16 – A picture of your dream cell phone

Yes, that’s right, I’ve got my dream phone…. Iphone 3GS in White (although I wouldn’t mind the Iphone 4 if it wasn’t for all those problems)… but it’s not quite my dream phone because…

It doesn’t meet my expectations! I need a phone to last atleast 18hrs in a day, without me having to turn down the brightness to the dimmest level. I’d drain my battery life easily within 4 hours!

Please Apple, improve the battery life.

Fuji Instax = Polaroid 300 ??

As promised, I would blog about this.

During my recent Melbourne trip, I came across an instant camera, what looked much like a Fuji Instax, but was branded under Polaroid.Polaroid 300 which released in May.

I approached the Polaroid booth at the Digital Life Expo / PMA, and asked the sales people if they know about the Fuji Film Instax.

Alot of them said, they’ve ‘heard’ of it, but haven’t actually seen it themselves.

So I pulled out my Fuji Instax and showed them, they tried to trick each other that its the new ‘white version’ of the Polaroid 300 (they covered the model #) and you really can’t tell the difference. Just that, the Polaroid has uglier colours, Red (maroon-y), blue and black. I just thought, urgh the colours are so YESTERDAY!

Funny because, they hired Lady Gaga as the Creative Director, as a way to ‘reconnect with the avante-garde pop culture’. What’s so avante garde about the overall look? I’d expect funky prints & colours.

But yeah, apparently Polaroid has bought the patent from Fuji, so I guess its a way for it to resurface again. I had mixed emotions when I first saw it, I wished I had waited a little later for a ‘Polaroid Instax’ instead, but then again Fuji is much more affordable! Polaroid is 1.5 or 2x more expensive than Fuji. Ridiculous.

At the time, we weren’t sure whether they had exactly the same film, because the colour quality was so much more vibrant with the Polaorid. The film size and all seemed the same and apparently, we could use the Polaroid film in my Fuji. I’m curious, I have yet to try that. We made a comparison between the two camera’s photo quality.(above)

What I noticed is that, Polaroid film seem to reflect the colours of Polaroid, that is the green tones, whereas Instax had more red tones. I also found that Polaroid was more sharper (even looking at other sample shots) than Fuji. I thought this had something to do with the camera, but the bf says its all in the chemicals of the film that affects sharpness and colours, right, wrong? I’m not sure if I prefer Polaroid or the Fuji quality, but I’d love some extra sharpness in my photos.

I’m going to take a risk and purchase a pack of Polaroid 300 film for testing, when I come across it on sale.

Maybe its my scanner, but the actual photo was slightly more green (polaroid), red (instax) and you can tell the Polaroid is sharper.. not even sure if this is a great comparison image since it wasn’t taken at the same distance… but you can tell there is a colour difference atleast…

Weeks ago, when photos of the assumed iPhone 4 was leaked, I disliked it, it didn’t look so appealing, the shape and all.

Until, the release of it today, the white version totally stole my heart *yes black, you’re getting boring now!*

Oh, I’m still not 100% loving the design, shape etc, but it just looks good in white!

It somehow reminds me of Nokia N97? Or is that just how smart phones look like these days…

The features sound great too… heh, like face time? and the improved display/resolutions *drools* etc.etc.

Yes, I got an iPhone 3GS for my birthday in April. Times like this, I wish Apple had released the iPhone 4 -way earlier-, cos the bf was considering on giving it to me as a belated birthday present … can’t change my birthday till June-July, could I? lol

My phone contract expires next Feb, reckon I would get the iPhone 4 then? Tempting… but just that my current iPhone 3GS I would keep for sentimental value... it was a birthday present from my bf and gfs afterall!

What annoys me most about the iPhone 3GS is, the battery capacity is totally, not, enough for my daily usage.

I’m the person who, ideally, would be connected 24/7. Push email, notifications, facebook, twitter, photo snaps, iphone app games for when I’m  bored… so I could easily use up the battery life by midday/mid-arvo. I guess its okay if I’m in Sydney, since I’ve got car charger, charge at home etc. But when I was in Melbourne, it was a pain trying to let it survive for the rest of the day, even pushing the brightness level to the very left of the bar.

Adjust my usage levels to accommodate the iPhone batt life? Hell no. That ain’t going to happen. Technology is meant to be used, not for it to control my behaviour around it @_@ SO… essentially, if iPhone 4 has better battery life, it would be -very- appealing. Battery life is very important when it comes to shopping for electronics, the reason I converted to the Macbook Pro, cos of the ’7 hours battery life’, even though I only got around 5hr ish out of it, it was still better than my old HP that was about 1.5-2hrs batt life. THEN few months later Apple decides to release the 10hr Macbook Pro, dammit. Would’ve been perfect for traveling!

I think I might upgrade to OS 4.0, that is if I am convinced by others who did the same.. and wasn’t too buggy on their 3GS that is.

Anyway, iPhone 4, please? in White?
