Life in a fishbowl

August 12th, 2010

Don’t know if I’ve blogged about it before, but I’ve recently got a new baby! .. Just over a month ago my friend helped me buy it back all the way from Beijing…

Lomo Fisheye 2!

It is a different camera to use, well, cos its a fisheye and I used it as is. I haven’t gotten too creative with it just yet… with the multi-exposures and such, So.. here goes -

Accidental double exposure – of me with my infected eye – which somewhat looks extremely obvious in this shot @_@ and ..blackwattle bay?

my baby cousin, looking oh so street with her hoodie :)

New family member!…

… to my slowly-growing-collection of red flats :) (shoes)

Ali Soft Wool – Cherry – $160 $80

My first pair of Sambag‘s!

My aunt has always raved about the quality and comfort of Sambag’s ballet flats.. I on the other hand had always been curious to  try it out for myself! but the one thing that was stopping me was the ridiculous price tag, well perhaps its not so ridiculous if you can afford it.. but I was someone who wouldn’t want to spend over $100 for a pair of shoes.. I mean flats.. (I did only, once, on a pair of red patent leather flats.. which lasted me 3 years and still going.. so it was worth the investment!..)

One day, my aunt told me that Sam B’s are on special… not just 20%…30% off.. but 50% off! Which brings it down to $80 :)

I only found out days before the sale ends, so I had to make my choice online… since I didn’t have time to drive out to  Chatswood and pick them up (CBD store didn’t have the colour I wanted :( )

So I was trying to decide between the Red, Cherry, and Watermelon … Yeah they are all shades of red, it was that difficult to decide on! So I thought I’d take a plunge and choose a lighter shade.. of Watermelon with the hot pink bow for a tad of contrast!

My aunt kindly offered to help me buy them on the last day of the sale in Chatswood… and I picked them up off her about 2 weeks ago. Only just last night I realised that, the bow wasn’t hot pink.. but red.. and the shade was lighten than I remembered.. so I went online to cross check images…happens that the assistant had given us a Cherry instead of Watermelon! (Well the box said Watermelon) … grumbles ;(

Oh well, it doesn’t matter, it is a lighter shade which is really nice too, especially with blue jeans <3

The only downside is, that the material is.. made of Soft wool.. so you can imagine how paranoid I am of getting them dirty, even with layers of Scotch Guard sprayed on. Otherwise, its a really comfortable pair of flats! Totally worth the $80 (hehe I’m still not sure about the full price!)

This is evil, I now have my eyes on more pairs to add to my collection!

I need a pair of red patents to replace my current one soon.. and I’m totally drooling over this pair of Sam B’s!

Tina Red Patent Leather – $175!!

I’m waiting for the next sale to arrive.. hopefully no later than Christmas hehe… and that there aren’t so many red patent flats fanatics like me who will sweep the stock out :D

My fever for red shoes are forever ~ till my wedding day…. you’ll lift my dress up and WON’T be surprised to find red shoes underneath ;D

Highlights of July

August 8th, 2010

Dear blogosphere,

My MIA, I hope has come to an end.. while I try get myself back into blogging, fingers crossed!

Since the holidays ended, and completely giving up on the July Project (Fail! :( I really suck at these commitments.. hah)

It’s been tiring and busy… doing, I don’t know what.

Be warned of long post.

Good news for the remainder of the year?

1. Part time uni, i.e. 2 subjects; 3 mornings.

The bad?

1. Committing 3 week nights to TAFE! I’ve taken up a part time evening course on Web Development, which will take 1.5years to complete. So good, so far, I have to say I’m actually learning more than Uni.. perhaps because they teach things from the basic, from scratch. Where as Uni, touches on it within a few minutes. Although had basics of HTML/CSS there were stuff I didn’t know… who knew there were stuff in HTML and CSS getting phased out huh? :P

Oh, the downside is of course loosing 3 evenings, 5:30-9:30pm, being a night person.. I loose alot of personal working time, get home and have just 2 hours or so till I need my snooze, perhaps it is a worthwhile trade off?

Good AND Bad?

Clarzzy is near completion of her Bachelor degree! /*screamspullshairout! It’s exciting the thought of being able to work in my dream job -hopefully- but the bad bit is loosing freedom.. and having to get in the phase of finding a job… has to be one of the worst moment’s of anyone’s life yeh? But if I do land in my dream job, it’d be the best thing ever :)

Currently in contemplation of undertaking Masters in PR & Advertising, sounds fancy doesn’t it? Working in advertising is another dream job to be working in, just another year I could earn that qualification. I have yet to make up my mind though.

Highlights of July?

in no particular order –

iPhone 4 finally touched down in Down Under!

No, I’m not getting one.

I hadn’t imagine myself to join in the craze of queuing up for the midnight launch of the iPhone 4 in the CBD, but since TAFE finished at 9:30PM, waiting for the boyfriend to pick moi up… and haven’t had dinner yet… the bf and I decided to drive down to Pancakes @ The Rocks for late, late dinner.. and later on visited our friends N and B queuing up outside the Optus CBD store (the longest queue of all the stores imo!)… and oh my god, I’ve never seen a longer queue, ever! The que coiled around the whole blog and had a few more loops on the side… insane. We stayed and chit chat till it struck midnight, the atmosphere was exciting.. we were standing amongst 500+ iphone fans! woohoo! Optus provided maccas, free 3minute massages, beanies, scarves, stools and beanies!

I -kinda- want an iPhone 4, now, I’m not a fan of the design.. honestly front on it just looks like the iphone 3G-S, but I want the mad-awesome screen resolution! It is awesomely sharp! Also, for the better camera… 5mp was it? It was much sharper, and also not forgetting to mention the LED flash.. will come handy 8-) The bf’s getting one soon.. so I can’t wait… I’d totally scab it off him when I need a photo taken hah :D

Dreams feel real while we’re in them. It’s only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange. (Cobb)

BEST, MOVIE, EVER!

LOVE the CONCEPT, storyline, graphical illusions, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt <3 Christopher Nolan is a genius!

Can I dream a little more? :) I want to watch this again!!

Joseph Gordon Levitt ;) aka Arthur in Inception!

I thought, he looks familiar? then I realized he was the main actor in 500 days of Summer… totally love the sleeked-hair ;D

I’ve watched so many movies recently that for the last 2-3 weeks, we’re left with nothing to watch. Or rather, there weren’t any good movies out! I’m craving Popcorn..haha random. One movie I wouldn’t recommend? Killers; it may look awesome in the trailer.. but the ending is truly lame-stupid. Only watch it if you want to drool-over Ashton or Katherine. And keep your expectations low.

Coming soon… My friend, Artha’s engagement party!

In the mean time, read up on my food-photo blog! I’ve got plenty of pics to post up soonish :)

Day 16 – A picture of your dream cell phone

Yes, that’s right, I’ve got my dream phone…. Iphone 3GS in White (although I wouldn’t mind the Iphone 4 if it wasn’t for all those problems)… but it’s not quite my dream phone because…

It doesn’t meet my expectations! I need a phone to last atleast 18hrs in a day, without me having to turn down the brightness to the dimmest level. I’d drain my battery life easily within 4 hours! :(

Please Apple, improve the battery life.

That is all.

Day 15 – A picture of yourself

Excuse the messy-wet hair, kinda just came outta the shower…. hah

You should know by now that I have a red obsession :) I need a new iphone case! One that won’t crack! i.e. non plastic :(

Currently eyeing Kate Spade Iphone Cover;

Only thing that’s stopping me is, the fact that its silicone.. thick.. and bulky :( But I’m loving the aqua + stripes!!

$45 from Apple store :(

Cost of a branded Iphone cover *dies* Clarzzy is broke *dies again*

Day 14 – A picture of your favorite teacher(s)

Year 12 was the most memorable highschool year, despite the struggle to get through the HSC, we had fun. Alot of my year 12 are my favourites too, but I’ve decided to feature, Mr. C, our Physics teacher.

This is our Yr 12 Physics class, very small group of…. Asians ( after our excursion to Prince of Wales Hospital), better yet we happen to be in the same friendship class, so we’re closely knit.

Physics is a hard subject, but Mr C manages to make every lesson fun. We were the first class in the school to have the Smart Board to use, which did make learning alot easier. I remember how fascinated Mr C was with it as well. All the games we played to assist in our learning.

I miss highschool :( not the HSC part but the friendship ~

Day 13 – A picture of your friends

What’s better than an Asian styled hot pot in winter?

Hot Pot @ Lum’s!

Gathered my friends at my place for hot pot tonight (great timing!)

It was yummy, and never felt so guilty afterwards!

We ended up on the couch with a bowl of sorbet watching Modern Family.

It was a great catch up boys & girls!

Day 12 – A picture of your favorite food

Yet again, another difficult photo for today. For someone who loves eating out half the week, its rather difficult to decide.

So I’ll choose; noodles. I love noodles!

Ichiran ramen & special boiled egg, Ueno;Tokyo, Japan

Very general I know, but if I was to be specific, I’d love a good bowl of Tonkatsu ramen, with a lovely thick flavoured pork broth.

Ever since Japan, I’ve fallen in love with ramen there…Ichiran the best! Since coming back I have been searching long and hard for something similar here. Sadly, it really can’t compare, only ‘close to’ it.

I really hope I’ll get to go back to Japan soon :)
